Capital Campaign & Fundraising Committee
The Capital Campaign and Fundraising Committee is tasked with finding ongoing financial support to assure long-term success. Currently, this group is establishing a roadmap for raising sufficient funds to cover all necessary expenses to operate a fully functional fraternity house. Our first priority is to align our efforts to support our lead donor, Phil Morse, ‘64, by obtaining substantial donations from other alumni to support the Rho Rho chapter for the next 100 years. We will do this under the guidance of a capital campaign consultant. Work was done on a feasibility study in 2016 with the conclusion that we did have the necessary alumni resources.
Following a successful acquisition and operation of the house, the committee will be tasked with shaping and commencing an on-going fundraising campaign to support the chapter in perpetuity.
Tasks include:
Defining renovation costs and exploring occupancy options, followed by needs statements and project marketing materials.
Structure the administration of funds with alumni accounting/tax company.
Define seed money requirements and raise the funds.
Understand and set up capital campaign payment pledge and donation matching plans.
Define and organize generational team captains
Establish Sponsor-A-Brother Program, where Brothers sponsoring active brother dues, support recruitment and education efforts, etc.
Establish some regular Alumni fundraising events for the chapter (Beggars Banquet, Portland wine tasting, harbor tours, accept profits from online Sigma Chi store.
